It is hard to believe that we are one week out from the official release of SHADOWS: The Unaccompanied Viola Sonatas of Günter Raphael. I have been feeling intense waves of emotions today. I sent out the first batch of CDs to several family, friends and colleagues who donated and contributed to the album this afternoon. The feeling I had as I dropped them off at the post office was akin to setting loose butterflies that you have been taking care of since they first hatched as eggs.
I am also excited to share that SHADOWS is officially on the Affetto Recordings website, and has up-to-date information on how to pre-order the album!

Last thing that I want to share (for now) is that tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, January 27, at 2pm at the Kaufman Center) I will be performing one of the movements from Raphael’s Sonata op. 46, no. 3 at the podcast recording for Person, Place, Thing, where Parlando’s founder and artistic director Ian Niederhoffer is being interviewed.
