I didn’t get a chance to write about this in the moment, even if “it only takes a moment” (as they sing in the music), but I had a really fun afternoon performing two concert productions of “Hello Dolly,” with JWM: A Theatrical Company. We performed in the park at Sutton Place twice on Tuesday, to two really appreciative audiences.
The weather could not have been better, even if we tried! Picture it, New York City on a Tuesday afternoon, in the mid-70s (Fahrenheit), hardly any clouds in the sky, with an epic view of the the Queensboro/59th Street/Ed Koch Bridge and Roosevelt Island in the backdrop.
I have to say that among the perform that I have the distinct privilege of doing, musical theatre in its various forms is one of my favorite things to do. (I could say that about a number of things with music though)…
If you want to catch one of the performances, please feel free to check out the 5pm livestream at https://www.youtube.com/live/l41aQk6F2EY. We will be performing “Hello Dolly” live again at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park on Tuesday, October 1st at 2pm.
