A Return to the Recording Studio… and other things

On Wednesday morning, I had an incredible opportunity to return to Scholes Street Studio to dive in on my video project. I really enjoyed getting to perform for a very small audience of two humans (René Allain, who was recording and Diana Golden, who was the studio producer) and the video and audio equipment. It is always a lot of fun to play in that space, and getting to document these awesome pieces. I am proud of myself for recording on violin for the first time, and getting to record works by three awesome composers: Adolphus Hailstork; Dennis Báthory-Kitsz; and Anthony R. Green! If you want to hear a sneak preview of the opening of Two Pages for Kara, by Anthony R. Green, please listen here!

Over the next several weeks, I will be reviewing the videos, and deciding on which recordings best represent the pieces that I have played. I will also be figuring out which photos of Kara (alone, with family and friends) that I want to include for Two Pages for Kara. Please stay tuned for additional updates as we get closer to completion!
