Wednesday’s performance was truly magical! I am grateful for all those who came out in person (and online) to listen to Wednesday’s faculty recital at the Aaron Copland School of Music, where I teach viola! Despite it being a little chilly in the hall, it was wonderful getting to share an eclectic mix of pieces by several living composers and dear friends and colleagues. It was great getting some positive feedback by loved ones, colleagues, as well as current and former students who were in attendance, and from some of the composers whose pieces I performed.

If you didn’t get a chance to hear it, it is still on Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O84bDWyb3dw&t=2s I will also be performing the same repertoire as part of my residency at the University of Northern Iowa, on Halloween night, October 31st, 8pm Central Time (9pm Eastern Time), and this too will be live streamed. (I’ll share the link when I get it!)
Before that though, I am super excited to be returning to my alma mater, Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, to give a lecture recital on Tuesday, October 22nd, to the BU Composer’s Forum, a class for composition majors where they get to learn about various composers. I am excited to share Günter Raphael’s compositions for solo viola. Since Günter Raphael is definitely not a household name here in the United States, there is still much work to be done in sharing his vast repertoire.
Until then, there is much practicing and preparing to do, I better get back to it!
