This spring, I am thrilled to announce that I will be hosting a series of Viola Audition Bootcamps, taking place at Opera America, 330 7th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY (a 5 minute walk from Penn Station). These workshops will be taking place on Saturday March 22nd, April 12th, and April 26th (from 10:00am-12:00pm).
These workshop will be in person, and available to all serious viola students (High School students Grades 9 and up, College, and young emerging violists) who are looking to workshop their audition materials for upcoming auditions. Each week there will be a different focus for repertoire in the studio classes (Week 1- Solo Bach and Sight-Reading; Week 2- Concerti and Sonatas; Week 3- Scales, Etudes, Excerpts). In addition, private lessons will also be available, either on the same date as the masterclass, or on a different day of the week. There will also be an audit option for those who want to observe the workshops, but may not be in a position where they are performing. I am planning on making the workshops flexible in their design, depending upon the level of students that sign up.

Last exciting bit of big news, Parlando’s Debut album was released yesterday! It is titled Censored Anthems, and features Shostakovich’s Adagio from Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Miecysław Weinberg’s Concertino for Violin and String Orchestra, op. 42, with Aubree Oliverson as violin soloist, as well as Edvard Mirzoyan’s Symphony for String Orchestra and Timpani.
